When you think Florida...you think seafood.  There are lots of chain restaurants in the area that try to compete for your dollar, but there is one local place that stands out.  It's not upscale.  It's not typical.  What Catfish Dewey's delivers is a unique 'old Florida' atmosphere of an era gone by.

They opened the place in 1984.  When you drive by, it kind of has a look of an old bar.  When you go in, it makes you feel at home.  Old pictures cover the walls, red and white checkered table cloths and stained wood everywhere give a nautical feel.  It's simple and unique. 

Now the food...is great.  They offer ALL-YOU-CAN-EAT specials every day.  Different days of the week hold a different all you can eat item.  (However, Catfish is all you can eat everyday.)  All diners come with HOT hush puppies.  (They bring a basket out full of them...and more if you ask).  They are the best we've ever had. 

All the diners come with a salad (nothing special there, typical salad).  The regular dinner portion is huge.  I'm partial to shrimp.  The fried shrimp comes with 18 plus a choice of potato.  The early bird specials have a smaller portion, but include a soda and dessert.  They even have frog legs!  And the fried clam strips...I've NEVER had better.  They are huge and tender. 

If you are a seafood fan, check this place out.  You won't regret it.  Come on, you can try one of those chains anytime.
