Florida Legislature approves changes to Broward Slots, Casinos
The slots in Broward have only been running for about 6 months and the Florida Legislature has already approved changes that could make a huge difference. On May 3, 2007, they approved a bill that would make the following changes (now Governor Charlie Crist just needs to approve it) for the new casino race tracks.
This bill would change the number of slot machines allowed in each location from 1,500 to 2,000. Operating hours would be increased from the maximum 16 hours a day to 18 hours weekdays and 24 hours weekends and holidays. ATM Machines will be allowed in the facility, but not on the gaming floor (they currently have to be off property). Casino wide progressive slot machines will be permitted (all casino's linked for big progressive jackpots).
We'll keep you updated on the progress of this bill. It may be up for final approval soon.
