Universal Orlando just announced a new addition is in the works at their Islands of Adventure park in Orlando.  "The Wizarding World of Harry Potter" themed island is set to open in 2009.  I think it could be kind of cool if they do it right.  It could be like stepping into the movie....I just hope they don't gear it too much to small kids.  That is what Disney is for.

Rides, shopping and backdrops will transport you to this fantasy world.  The park will let visitors view the famed locations in Rowling's magical world, like Dumbledore's office in Hogwarts and the shops in Hogsmeade. Some locations may be in upcoming books.  Many of the same set designers from the movies are working with Universal Orlando also. 

Orlando is about a 2 1/2 hour drive from Ft. Lauderdale.
