Florida Casino Buzz...
It looks like State Lawmakers are entertaining the thought of allowing some kind of 'Vegas Style' casino's in the state. Not much was explained on the details, or if they mean full table and slots. They say that the taxes made on the Casino revenue would supplement any deficit left for the future tax cuts.
Makes perfect sense to me. Broward already has the full Vegas Slots and they seem to be doing well. They aren't the horror everyone said they were going to be. With all the Hurricanes and insurance issues, we need all the tourists and tax revenue we can get.
If done right, this could be a good thing for the state. Disney of course would pitch a fit over casino's anywhere near their property. But the Disney guest isn't really the same as a Casino guest. Upscale places in south Florida would make so much money for the state. If you don't like to gamble...don't go. If you are addicted, get help. I don't understand why the government needs to tell us how to spend our money.
