The landmark 'geosphere' building at Disney's EPCOT has had Mickey Mouse's arm and a magic wand attached since the Y2K celebration.  Many EPCOT purists were up in arms (no pun intended) and I'm sure are happy to hear the news.  Deconstruction of the 50 ton addition will begin Monday.

The structure houses the ride 'Spaceship Earth' which takes riders though time to show how communication has changed the world we live in.  Disney has finally decided to 'refurbish' the attraction and the ride will be closed until November.  I'm happy they are going to update it.  It's been the same ride for so long and communication has changed so much lately and kids lately are much more in tune with technology.  Lets hope they do it right.  I used to love EPCOT, but they really need to start updating the attractions a bit.  It's hard to take the 'future city' concept seriously when some of the stuff is decades old.
