More Buzz About Florida Indian Tribes Getting Full Gaming...

There is more buzz recently about Gov. Charlie Christ trying to work out an agreement with the Florida Indian Tribes that will allow them to change form the Class II slots to Class III (Vegas Style).  This also could mean that full table games (Blackjack, craps, etc.) could be on the horizon for them.

The Seminoles are saying that under Federal Law, they should be allowed the same gaming options other casinos have in the state.  Broward County allows Class III slot machines in the 'racinos' in the county.  The National Government has stepped in and said if an agreement is not reached within 60 days, they will get involved.  That could mean the Seminoles get class III machines and Florida gets NO tax revenue from them.

Lets hope an agreement is reached quickly.  It would be nice to have another type of attraction for locals and visitors.  While there are some that want to keep gambling out...I don't understand what the big deal is.  If you don't want to gamble...don't.  The crime doesn't increase because you have gaming.  The crime is there anyway.  And pllleeease don't mention Atlantic City.  It was a dump prior to the casinos and still is.  You can't tell me that an MGM Grand Casino Resort would not be packed on the beach?  Or even close to the beach.  A casino, nice hotel with shopping, restaurants and maybe a Vegas Style show?

Will be interesting to see what happens on the months to come.
