Ft. Lauderdale Beach New Hotel Construction...Estimated Opening Dates.
Well construction is moving ahead...slow, but things are shaping up. I've posted some pictures in previous posts, but wanted to give everyone an idea of when these places are planning to open. I hear that one reason these are taking so long is the lack of construction workers and materials. They had slower starts to the projects due to Hurricane Wilma that slammed the area in 2005. It looks like they are pushing for most of them to be open by next year. I'll take more pictures of the progress soon.
Luxury Hotels:
The Atlantic Hotel - NOW OPEN.
Hilton Ft. Lauderdale Beach Resort - NOW OPEN.
St. Regis Resort, Spa & Residences - NOW OPEN.
W Hotel - June 1, 2008
Trump International Hotel and Tower - Early 2008 (no month given).
Trump Las Olas Beach Resort - Mid-Late 2008 (again, no month given).
On another note:
Marriott Courtyard - Ft. Lauderdale Beach. (Formerly Doubletree...and gone thru a renovation). October 2007.
** One thing I noticed is the bad reviews for this property in tripadvisor.com and yahoo.com...but that was prior to the major renovations. They gutted the place. It's a great location and the renderings of the remodel look nice. Free high speed internet too and flat screen tv's. It's in a great location too.
