Our Visit to the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood Florida-Posting 1
We spent a few hours today at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino. It was kind of a spur of the moment trip since we were in the area. It's been about 6 months since we last went and wanted to check out the new Smoke Free Casino section.
Let me start by saying there was so much to see here, I will be splitting my coverage over a few different posts. Post 1 is mainly about the gaming options and the casino itself.
It amazes me on how the new slot casinos in Broward (at the race tracks) are scratching their heads on why they are not bringing in numbers like the Seminoles. Well, the Seminoles know how to build a casino. This property would EASILY fit in on the Las Vegas Strip. The only difference is the gaming. The Seminoles have class III slots which are 'bingo' side games. They have the same look as your favorites (Wheel of Fortune, Little Green Men) but you play against other players. They payouts are not as good...and the minimums are actually kind of high. But, what the Hard Rock misses in gaming...it makes up in every other area. The casino looks hip, cool and just plain fun. There is entertainment and food options everywhere. There are nightclubs and even top line shopping. Live concerts and comedy clubs always seem to draw some big names as well. It's a full destination resort. The only thing I would love to see there is an upscale movie theater.
We decided to park in the new parking structure off of 441 and 'Lucky Street' (get it...Lucky Street). They have recently installed a new sign...looks very Las Vegas now.

The new parking garage is at the opposite end of the Casino and Hotel. You can stroll through the Paradise entertainment complex to get to the Casino. I'll cover more on this area in my next posts.
Once inside, there are 2,400 slot machines and a 'Poker Room' with 48 tables. Well the Poker Room is more like a Poker 'area'. Every table was PACKED. There is also a food court with lots of options and plenty of tables to relax. I was able to sneak a picture of the Casino from the Paradise entrance and the food court.
There is a new 'Smoke Free' room in the Casino. Its pretty big and is a smart move. (see picture below). They are also working on a new VIP area in the Casino right next to the Poker tables. I didn't take a picture as it's just a temporary wall right now. I'll also be interested to see where they will squeeze in the table games if the agreement with the state of Florida goes through.
The Casino is huge, so if you go and want to play the slots...be sure you walk the whole place to see which machines are best for you.
