We drove by the new IKEA Sunrise today (Saturday October 13) to take a few pictures and it was a zoo.  Police were directing traffic and we actually saw people parking in the structure.  Jeff was pretty excited since he's never been to an IKEA yet so we tried to see if we could get in.  Well in the back entrance there was a line of cars, but the police woman directing traffic was asking to see some kind of 'card'.  From the looks of it, they had a special invite only opening today.  I'm thinking that they probably handed out postcards to all IKEA employees so their family could get the first look...or maybe mailed to residents in the surrounding neighborhood to kind of 'make peace' for all the horrible traffic they will cause.

I was able to get a picture of the completed building as we drove by.  I guess this will have to do until next weekend.
