The New Marriott Courtyard Ft. Lauderdale Beach is Now Open.

The newly renovated Marriott Courtyard Hotel in Ft. Lauderdale Beach opened this week.  It went through a complete renovation and that's taken about 2 years to complete.  It was once a DoubleTree Hotel and I believe it changed hands a few times prior to Marriott taking on the property.  The hotel closed in 2005 after Hurricane Wilma slammed into the area and they have been working on the property since then.

We went to the Ft. Lauderdale International Boat show today and decided to take a peek in as we walked by.  I'm glad we did, because they were very eager to show the property off.  The front desk Supervisor was very pleasant and helpful.  She was glad to show us 2 different rooms (one a city view and one an ocean view).

The lobby is not grand by any means...but it's nicely decorated.  There is a small snack room in case you are needing some quick energy.  There is also a restaurant on property that serves Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner (most Courtyards only serve Breakfast and MAYBE Lunch.)  The entire hotel is decorated in bright colors...yellows, blues and greens.  Very tropical.  The pool/tiki bar also serves some sandwiches and they told me they are planning to have some bands and entertainment on the weekends.

There is a plasma TV in every room and also a small refrigerator.  Rollaway beds are also available.  The oceanfront view was beautiful since the windows are huge (they actually are sound proof).  The only thing that is lacking is a balcony.

They did a great job on this property...and for the location and the look of the room (and it being new) it's a great deal.  One note...the parking is kind of steep at $24 a day.  But it's on the beach and parking can be tricky.  I had to snap the pictures in the actual guest room kind of fast, so sorry if they are not as good as usual.
