It’s Time for the ‘SnowBird’ Arrival – Welcome British & Canadian Visitors! (And Those Looking to Plan a Visit!)
As you might know, Florida is also a firm vacation favorite for those in the UK, Europe and Canada. (As many of us Americans living in the northern states of the USA already know.) As predictably as the migrating birds head south each winter ( in the colder northern states) many couples and families choose to fly down to Florida's sunny resort cities such as Miami, Key Largo and Fort Lauderdale! (Hence the term SnowBirds) To the locals this is the 'Sunshine State' and it’s not hard to see why so many Americans choose to live here all year round.
On the other side of the Atlantic, British sun-seekers have long regarded Florida as one of the greatest sunshine destinations to choose from. A holiday to Florida is perfect for escaping the drudgery of the icy wintertime. Florida's sunny weather and balmy temperatures are enticing for so many Brits looking for a getaway destination - they love the place! It’s certainly a hit with kids, thanks to Disney World and the other Orlando area theme parks, and an excellent thawing-out destination for the Parents as well!
For the travelers coming from the UK, expect flying times of approximately 10 hours from most airports in Britain. But it’s worth the long flight. You can expect a quality accommodation and a very favorable exchange rate, making your Florida holiday not as far away nor as expensive as you once may have expected. A good British company that has recently begun taking British tourist to Florida is "On The Beach Holidays" . I’d suggest if you are planning a trip ‘across the pond’ check out their site. You are surely going to love the packages offered.
