New water restrictions for South Florida begin Tuesday.

Winter is usually the 'dry' season down in South Florida and this year is no exception.  To make matters worse...they are saying it's been the driest 2 years in quite some time.  Starting Tuesday...water restrictions will be enforced.  You will be allowed to water your lawns only 1 day a week.  Ouch!  I bet it won't be long until the state starts to give some sort of tax credits or something for residents using a 'grass' alternative...or planting Native Florida Plants (they take less water).

Odd street addresses may water lawns Mondays from 4 to 8 a.m. or 4 to 8 p.m.
Even street addresses may do so Thursdays from 4 to 8 a.m. or 4 to 8 p.m.
Hand-watering with a hose and shutoff nozzle is allowed for 10 minutes on any day to save stressed or dying plants.

There are no restrictions on boat or car washing.
Additional watering days are allowed for new lawns and plantings for up to 60 days.
