Gas prices in Ft. Lauderdale highest in the state

It's being reported today that Ft. Lauderdale has the highest gas prices in the state of Florida.  The average here today is $3.31 to $3.40 for regular unleaded.  It always amazes me that gas prices are so inconsistent from station to station.  You even see some gas stations selling gas at a nickel difference when they are across the street from each other.  If gas keeps going up like it is, I would predict that the next 'building' surge in South Florida will be more 'urban' neighborhoods that are more self contained and pedestrian friendly.  I've even heard some developers wanting to build some big residential complexes at Tri-Rail stations.

I'm glad that there are a lot of options within walking distance where I live.  I'm also pretty close to the beach, so it won't take more than 1/4 gallon to get there.  Work on the other hand is getting more and more expensive to make the drive.

(Here is a picture that can sum up all of our feelings about gas prices.)
