A few shark sightings today near Ft. Lauderdale Beach.

There were a few sharks spotted off of Ft. Lauderdale beach today which led to some short closings from Sunrise Blvd to Bayshore Drive.  The reef sharks were spotted about 50 years out but nobody had a close encounter.  The life guards only closed the beach for about 15 minutes each time they were spotted just to be on the 'safe side'.  I'm glad to see that they are being proactive and people are aware of their surroundings.  As of 5 PM the sharks are gone and hopefully won't be back for quite some time.

**You might want to remember that most shark attacks happen at dusk and dawn...so you might want to stay out of the water at those times.
