Florida Sales Tax Holiday information.
Well with all of the budget cuts this year, there have been some changes in the Sales Tax Holidays we've enjoyed over the years. Here is some general information we hope you find helpful.
Hurricane Supply Sales Tax Holiday. It's been held in the beginning of June over the past few years, but as of now the 'holiday' was canceled this year. The savings usually included tarps, batteries, flashlights and other necessities to prepare for Hurricane Season. It looks like you'll have to clip some coupons and watch the store fliers if you want to save a few bucks this year.
Back to School Sales Tax Holiday. This one will happen this year but with a few changes. It will be shorter (7 days rather than 10) and it will not include books. Still covered are clothes, shoes and backpacks priced under $50 and misc. school supplies under $10. The holiday will be held August 2 - 8, 2008.
