Restaurant Review: Primanti Brothers, Wilton Manors

This is a GREAT place!  It's located about a block from my condo and lets just say...I make a trip here about once every other week.  It's a casual Italian pizza place with locations in Wilton Manors and on Ft. Lauderdale Beach.  They original location is in Pittsburgh, PA and has been featured on Food Network.

They serve pasta dishes, sandwiches and pizza.  They also have some salads and great appetizers.  The sandwiches are unique and served with french fries and cole slaw ON the sandwich!  How good is that?!?  My favorite is the 'Pitts' Burger.  It's a grilled hamburger with the fries and cole slaw.  The steak hoagie is very good as well and comes loaded with cheese and marinara sauce.  They warm it in the pizza oven too..  MMMmmm.

The wings are AWESOME as well.  You can choose your sauce (BBQ, Honey BBQ, etc.) but we choose the unique 'Cajun Dry Rub' (say that 10 times fast).  They fry the wings up and then coat them in the special HOT cajun seasoning.  They never disappoint.

The pizza is served in 2 sizes.  14" and 18".  I've had it many many times and find that the more 'simple' the toppings the better the pizza.  Meaning...don't load your pizza up with over 2 toppings.  I find it takes away from the great sauce and crust.  This pizza is better than any chain and can hold it's own to any NY pizza.

(18" cheese and pepperoni...great for left-overs too!)

They also serve beer at the Wilton Manors location as well.  I've eaten here many many times and have only had one bad meal that I can remember.  Hey..it happens.  With that said, I really think this is an asset to the area and hope they stay around forever!  At least until I move...then they have to move down the block from me

I am originally from Pittsburgh and have been to the original restaurant many times. It is nice to have Primanti's so close to home here in FLA. Food is always great and very reasonable prices. Italian combo is the bomb.
