Sugar production in Brazil a hot market.

With the price of food rising, it's good to see that one staple...sugar is being grown in huge amounts in Brazil.  Brazilian Sugar is basically in our 'back-yard' and has grown to become one of world leaders in growing.  Although most of the sugar there is consumed by Brazilians, I can only imagine they will begin to export more very soon.  With ethanol making strides in alternative fuels, there are talks that sugar might be used in it's production (in my opinion it's smarter to use sugar than corn).  Although we do produce some sugar here in South Florida, we don't come close to Brazil.  I didn't even realize that India was a large producer of sugar.  Huh.  Who would have thought?  I never realized we imported some of our supply here in the US.
