A soft drink by any other name...
In the Detroit area...they call it 'Pop'. In the NYC/NNJ area, it's 'Soda'....and in South Florida you get a mix of the two, but 'Soda' is the dominator. I've always thought it was very interesting on how different parts of the US call a 'soft drink' by many different names. I found this fun map (on another South Florida blog called MenuPages Blog) and it color codes the US to show the differences in the 'slang'. I never realized that a large chunk of the south calls every soft drink "coke". I'm thinking that the 'Other' means they just call it by the actual name....which isn't too interesting.
