Get cooking and share or store your recipes online.
It's obvious that everyone seems to be going out to dinner a little less to save some money. Some of my favorite places don't seem to be that busy which has some good and bad points. I've also noticed many new printed menus at some of these places which means...price increases.
More and more people are choosing to stay home and get back in the kitchen and it can be a lot of fun. The biggest problem though is that many people seem to run out of fresh ideas to keep the family happy at dinner time. It takes a lot of time to plan a meal or look through all those recipes you have in your recipe box or book. They are usually scattered all around the kitchen in all kinds of drawers and notebooks....even shoved into those old published book books you have laying around.
A friend of mine told me about a website that is actually pretty cool for the home cook. Heck..it's even kind of cool for that person that doesn't like to cook that much. Keyingredient.com is actually a place you can share, store and find new recipes. You can even enter those old family recipes and have them stored on their server so they won't get lost. Key Ingredients can even take a combination of your recipes and others you find on the site and make a custom cookbook. That is a great idea for that new home owner or kid off to collage. You can choose to share or make your recipes private, so you are always in control.
I just thought this site is a great idea and worth a look. This can become quite a hobby and in the end save you some money by avoiding take-out.
