Rover's going to be sooo disappointed.
Sorry Doggies. Lauderdale-by-the-Sea recently voted down a 'dog-beach trial period'. The measure seemed like it was going to sail through the city council, but residents made their voices heard. The residents of Lauderdale-by-the-Sea felt that the piece of beach was way too large for such a park and they also felt it would be a sanitation issue.
I personally don't understand the push recently to start all of these 'dog beaches'. One in each county might work, but I think people are getting a bit carried away. People don't clean up after themselves on many of our beaches...what makes you think they will clean up after the dog? Yuck.
There are plenty of dog parks around and Rover should be more than happy running around there. What ever happen to the back yard anyway?

Random dog pic...it is kinda cute huh?
