UPDATE:  It's OPEN now.  They do have some great prices.

In an old Winn Dixie location on US1 in Pompano Beach, a new 'Walmart Neighborhood Market' is well on it's way to opening.  The sign has been up for quite some time and they finally hung a sign outside.  It's also listed on Walmart's website as 'opening soon'.

There are already a few of the 'Neighborhood Markets' around South Florida/Broward County (out 'west'), but I haven't been to one here (out 'east').  I did make it into one in Las Vegas on a trip there a few years ago.  If you haven't been to one...think of a Super Walmart...but only the 'grocery side' and all of the items you would normally find in a grocery store (health & beauty, etc.). 

Walmart prices are always pretty low, but trying to find one that is clean and pleasant to shop at is a chore.  The nicest one I've been to is the new Super Walmart in Parkland/Deerfield Beach.  Lets hope this is a nice clean store with great prices.  We sure could use one...Publix is great, but things seem to be costing more and more there lately.  I hear that Walmart also takes coupons...so I'll have to test that out.
