Altantic Center building construction pushed back.
The slowdown continues. The planned Atlantic Center is going to be a 'mixed' use building housing mostly office space. They tout the construction as using the most 'disaster resistant' building technologies. The artist rendering looks kind of cool too. The 28 story building will be located in downtown Ft. Lauderdale just off of Las Olas on SE 2nd Street.
It was supposed to break ground a few months ago, but the rumor is that it's been pushed back a bit. A bit might be a little understatement. The website claims the building will have tons of upgraded features that I'm sure won't come cheap. Hopefully the project won't be scraped altogether and they can hold on through the economic mess. I guess we'll see if they start to build in January 2009 or not.
