Two college football bowl games to hit South Florida.
With the slowing economy, we all are hoping that people are still going to make time to visit Florida in the winter months. It's too early to tell what kind of tourism numbers they are expecting, but there is some good news on the horizon. For the first time...South Florida will host two of the biggest college football bowl games. Not only do we have the games...but the teams facing off have everyone excited. That spells about $250 million in extra revenue for the area.
The Florida Gators are hitting town along with three teams from different states. We all know that Gator fans will make the trip down and the three other teams are known for rabid fans that will travel to see the game. The Westin Diplomat Resort & Spa on Hollywood Beach and the new Maimi Fountainbleau Hotel will host the teams, so you'll want to book early if you want to stay in those hotels during game weekends.
