Ft. Lauderdale Air & Sea Show to return in 2010.

It looks like the Ft. Lauderdale Air & Sea Show will only suffer a 2 year void. The city of Ft. Lauderdale approved a motion to allow two area businessman (Stanton Smith and Steve Savor) to begin planning and building a show for 2010. The agreement calls for the two to pay for all costs associated with the show and post a $750,000 bond to cover any 'issues' that may arise. They are also to ensure that the show does not fall on one of Galleria Mall's busiest shopping days (the weekend prior to Mother's Day). There are also some environmental concerns to be addressed...such as the anchors offshore are not to harm any natural reefs.
Many people complain about the noise and people swarming the area...but we need the tourism dollars and it's always a good time. I live very close to the action and don't really see much in the way of traffic issues.
There is no date set at this time, but as soon as I hear something...I'll let everyone know.
