Cover those plants!

(Frost can kill tender fruits and veggies.  Cover those plants.)

Brrr....the coldest weather in YEARS here in South Florida is making news headlines.  It's supposed to dip into the upper 30's with a wind-chill in the 20's.  They are even warning the western inland areas of a hard freeze too!  That means there will be hours where the temperature is below freezing.  Most residents east of I-95 will only need to worry about a light frost possibility.

So don't forget to bring your pets indoors and cover those tender plants on your balcony or in your back yard.  As luck would have it...this is the first year I decided to grow tomatoes on my balcony and this is the coldest winter I can remember.  Maybe all this cold weather means less hurricanes this year (**knock...knock).  That was me knocking on wood.

Keep warm everyone.  And for your tourists...the temps should be back to normal by the weekend.
