Ft. Lauderdale/Hollywood International Airport thinks about lowering parking rates.

Ft. Lauderdale/Hollywood International Airport is thinking about dropping it's remote parking fees from $9 a day to $7.50 a day.  They've already asked county commissioners to approve the drop and are hoping to entice more travelers to use their lots rather than the low cost alternatives.

Since the car rental agencies consolidated at the airport, that left many lots empty.  Many low-cost parking alternatives opened in those lots and offer rates as low as $6.50 a day.  They even offer loyalty programs with some deeper discounts (some even offer a free USA Today and booties for your feet to use when you go through airport security).  Let the parking wars begin!
