Monkeys at Ft. Lauderdale Park N Ride! Really!
It seems that the Ft. Lauderdale Park N Ride airport long term lot has made some changes. (It's the newer long-term lot that took over one of the rental agency lots.) It's quite packed and you need to be sure you make a reservation. When we arrived to park there for last week's trip to Las Vegas...there was only the new 'covered parking' available. (With a AAA Membership...they give a discount.) We didn't want the hassle of finding another lot, so we chose to use the 'covered parking' area.
While taking the suitcases out of the car...I heard Jeff yell "What's that?!?!?" and pointed to an animal in the middle of the lot. I'm thinking it was your normal neighborhood animal like a raccoon...a squirrel or maybe even a dog. WRONG! Monkeys! A whole family! At first it was alarming...as they started walking in our direction. Were they going to throw poo and steal our luggage? Were they going to bite us? Do they carry rabies? All they did was walk past us and didn't even give us a second look. The van driver said that they have a whole family with some baby monkeys too.

(See him just sitting there?? Probably wondering what the heck we are doing.)
It was so strange to see....I didn't grab my phone to take a picture until it was kind of late...but managed to get a few. I'm guessing that this was a transplanted Miami Monkey family. Maybe got lose after a hurricane years ago?

(Sorry for the bad timing of this one...almost looks like a Bigfoot picture huh? But that's really a monkey.)

(It was like a monkey parade...this was monkey # 5.)

Wow, monkeys on the lose. What kind of parking lot does the airport run; a home for lost animals?
