The scratch-off lottery vending machines have been slowly rolling out this summer all around Florida.  Now, it's Broward County's turn.  The new machines will be available in Publix and Winn Dixie and will sell only scratch-off instant tickets.  These machines will be located near the Customer Service areas as each vending machine will have a 'kill-switch'.  The switch will disable the machine if the workers near by think that the customer is under 18.  The machine will then reset after 6 minutes.  It will be interesting to see how the sales shake out and if the process is embraced by the lottery-playing public.



Grocery stores here in South Florida are really stepping up.  They are inching forward in the technology field...adding DVD Rental vending machines and now the lottery machines.  They even offer home-cooked meals to take home and heat up.  Now if they only would come out with something that will clean up after itself.
