The Powerball Lottery just came to the state about a year ago.  It's the mega lottery in which multiple states share the revenue and allows for bigger jackpots.  It was just announced that Florida is #1 in ticket sales out of the 30 states that play.  Not too bad for a state that was holding off joining the party for so long.

I'm not sure if the revenue from ticket sales is pumped into education the same way as the lotto is, but this is some serious money.  With 40% of sales going to education, that's good news.  I just hope that is SUPPLEMENTS the money already going to education for the state...and doesn't REPLACE it.
