Ft. Lauderdale International Boat Show is this weekend.

The world's largest boat show is this weekend and everyone's keeping their fingers crossed for some hearty sales this year.  The Ft. Lauderdale International Boat Show celebrates it's 50th anniversary this year and is going to be a huge show.  The show takes place between October 29 - November 2, 2009 and is spread over six locations.

Even if you are not in the market for a new boat or a current owner...this is a pretty cool show.  Not only can you see all the boats for sale..but you can take tours of some of the most expensive yachts around.  To see the whole show...you need a good solid day, so schedule accordingly.  The Ft. Lauderdale famous water taxi system can take you between some of the locations and it's a unique way to travel too.  The Bahia Mar Marina area is the most fun to walk through.  There you can check out the docked boats while being so close to the beach.

Tip:  Park at the Galleria Mall and take the water taxi across the drawbridge at the Double Tree Hotel.  Parking is free there and the water taxi stops at the Convention Center and at the Bahia Mar area at the beach.  There is also a stop at Beach Place to grab a bite to eat.  Bring some cash for water taxi tickets.
