Man-O-Wars back on the beaches.
With the wind/breeze blowing in from the East....it means that you might find some Man-O-Wars along the beach in early mornings. These strange looking sea creatures are like a jellyfish, but float along the top of the water. They have a large 'air bladder' that makes up a majority of their body. They are a cool purple color and you can easily spot them when/if they wash up on the sand. They almost look alien huh?

(Beached Man-O-War on Ft. Lauderdale Beach)
Every morning the city of Ft. Lauderdale Beach rakes the sand and seems to pop most of them...then they dry up fairly quickly. Most that I've seen don't have the tentacles in tact. They move with the tide...so be careful when high tide moves in...you don't want to get stung as the wind and tide move them on shore.
