Las Olas restaurant scene's pulse is on the rise.

Rocco's Taco's is almost set to open in the old Louie Louie/Smith & Jones location which should bring a great vibe to the area. The Sun Sentinel (John Tanasychuk) is now reporting that two new restaurants are being planned for Las Olas.

The closed Bova Prime spot (401 E. Las Olas) is reported to become a high end steakhouse called Rare. The parent company, CentraArchy Restaurant Management (out of Atlanta) also operates a few Florida restaurants - New York Prime in Boca and Gulfstream Café in Jupiter. No opening date is set yet.

The second possible new restaurant will open in the old Samba Room location (850 E. Las Olas) and is said to be a 'high end burger gastropub'. Prakas & Company is still in negotiations but are very interested in the location. Got to love the high end burger spots.
