Old Houson's / Bucky's / DWade's building getting a new restaurant- Brickhouse Tavern + Tap.

The old Houston's Restaurant that was on US1 in Ft. Lauderdale (between Oakland Park Blvd and Sunrise) was a nice spot. They closed shortly after hurricane Wilma hit the area in 2005. Then came Bucky's BBQ. They didn't stay open very long and then D Wade's opened and threw in the towel about 2 years ago. Well…the building is now getting a facelift…a MAJOR one in fact. The whole inside is being torn down to be 'rebuilt' to make way for the new restaurant "Brickhouse Tavern + Tap". It's a growing 'chain' that has locations in TX, IL, NY and FL (Orlando & Tampa). This will be the chain's first South Florida location.
Brickhouse's 'hook' if you will, is serving HUGE portions along with dishes that are not for the figure friendly customer. The huge portions doesn't relate to just the food either. They offer beer in many sizes. There is the 16 and 20 oz. beer glass. The 12 oz. bottle or can. The 40 oz. bottle. Here is where it gets crazy….there are no 'pitchers'. Instead…they have what looks like mini-taps that come in 50 oz. and 100 oz. There is also some huge 169 oz. size too that almost looks like a keg (maybe it is…it's been a long time since collage).
The beer sizes:

The servers will be cute women in shorts and t-shirts and I'm guessing that there will be lots of TV's for sports viewing. The chain uses 'naughty and nice' to describe items on the menu and also uses the 'manly' label quite often to describe their offerings.
I saw a sign that they were hiring…but think it will be a few months until the opening..as the inside still needs to be completed.
