The Wannado City childrens theme park inside of the Sawgrass Mills Mall will permanelty close on January 12, 2011. With that sad news…312 employees will be laid off. The company is blaming 'financial instability' since it's opening in August 2004. The 140,000 theme park allowed kids to 'role play' hundereds of carreers (like firemen, doctors, reporters, etc.). The name comes from kids being able to do what they 'Wannado'. It was actually a unique play spot that allowed kids to learn about all kinds of jobs. Sawgrass Mills says that they already have some popular brand named retailers waiting to move in.
