The new B Ocean Fort Lauderdale opened this week and we took a quick walk through the property.  Our overall thoughts?  Not 'B'ad.  The property is located on A1A and Sunrise Blvd.  The building itself was renovated...which seemed to take years (thank you recession!).  The location is right across from the beach and within walking distance of the Galleria Mall (maybe 3 blocks).

The lobby is kind of small, but functional.  The B Hotel brand seems to be offering a 'trendy' less expensive alternative for the mid-price range traveler.  The lobby is decorated in white and some blues and browns with some cool light features on the walls that change color.

There is a 'restaurant' on property called B'stro.  We stopped in and it looked like more of a grab and go type eatery.  You order and pick up your food at the counter...and there was beer and wine sold here as well.  While the food options looked limited...there are MANY places to eat within a block of the hotel (Primanti Brothers pizza is open 24/7).

The pool area looked nice and relaxing.  Some cabanas were around the edge and there looked to be lots of sun.

The lobby restroom was clean and decorated very modernly.  Hey...you can learn a lot about a hotel from their lobby restrooms!



The B Ocean Fort Lauderdale should pack them in with it's room rates and fresh face.  It's located on a quieter part of the beach...but has so many food and entertainment options within walking distance.   The main part of Ft. Lauderdale Beach isn't too far either.
