I know…Chicken Nuggets are not the healthiest food you can get. And I also know that you shouldn't have 'high expectations' for chicken nuggets at a fast food restaurant. Well, that didn't stop me from trying the 'new' Burger King Chicken Nuggets today. I'm not a huge fan of Burger King simply for the fact that their food quality is so hit or miss and I mostly miss. Food is usually cold and not worth the price. They have been advertising the heck out of their new nuggets so I thought…"Well they must be better…right?"

I decided on the 8 piece combo, small. It comes with a medium French fry and medium soda. Guess they don't want to make it a 'real' small.

The fries were a bit undercooked. They were hot…but soggy. Ick.

I opened the box to reveal 8 nuggets that resembled the nuggets from Wendy's. Burger King used to have chicken 'strips' years ago…then switched to ones that were shaped like 'crowns'. The chicken 'fries' are still on the menu…so the new nuggets were replacing the strips/crowns. The old chicken strips used to taste similar to the chicken they used for their chicken sandwich. The appearance of the 'new' nuggets looked like it had the same coating as all previous incarnations so I figured it would taste the same. WRONG! They were horrible. Soggy, tasteless pieces of grease. The consistency of the chicken in the nugget is actually really gross. The texture of eating a nugget is like chewing on a wet paper towel. The flavor is actually quite similar to a wet paper towel as well. Even if the nugget was hot and fresh from the fryer…it wouldn't have helped.

Out of the big fast food guys…here is my ranking:
1. McDonald's Chicken McNuggets (while not the best in the world…pretty good and unique)
2. Wendy's. Not the best chicken consistency…but has flavor.

I don't even think Burger King's new nuggets should be on the list at all. Don't waste your time and go for a burger.  I'm not even going to give the location in Deerfield Beach, FL since all Burger King's are the same...inconsistant.
