Gourmet Food Trucks are the hot new 'dining craze' out there. Last weekend, we got the opportunity to give one a try. Whole Foods had an Earth Day promotion running. Show your receipt at any Florida State Park…get in free. We headed down to Hugh Birch State Park (near Sunrise Blvd and A1A) and sure enough….our purchase at Whole Foods saved us the $6 entrance fee.

The park had an Earth Day festival set up with booths, food and some exhibits. We noticed the Nacho Bizness Food Truck and moved in for a closer look.



The truck itself is quite small, a lot smaller that I thought it would be. It looked cramped with 2 people working inside, but they had enough room to make every order fresh.



The special Earth Day menu had a few different options…tacos and burritos. We chose a Shrimp and a Tilapia taco. I got a Ginger Lemonade and Jeff went for the Coconut juice drink.

The tacos took about 10 minutes to cook and we served hot off the grill. They were service on corn tortillas (doubled up for strength). Each taco was topped with a 'Tropical Pineapple Slaw' and cilantro.

The tacos were GREAT. They stayed together when you ate them and yet they were totally packed with ingredients. The Pineapple slaw gave it a sweetness that was just enough and didn't overpower anything. The fish and shrimp were fresh and seasoned very well too. These tacos rival (if not better ) than some of the 'fast-casual' or Mexican Restaurants in town. All this from a truck too. The burritos looked huge and they don't skimp on portions. The specials change as well, so there will always be something to try.

I would definitely hit Nacho Bizness again if I happen to be lucky enough to be in the same area they are serving. They normally serve lunch off of 17th Street in Ft. Lauderdale, but sometimes are on the move.
