Vegas based Boyd Gaming selling Dania Jai-Alai.

I'm sure that the Las Vegas based Boyd Gaming company had high hopes when it bought Dania Jai-Alai. The property is a bit outdated…but they has some plans to convert it into a flashy casino with slot machines. With the economy issues and the high tax rates imposed on the Pari-Mutual casinos in Broward (based on slot play), they put their plans on hold. Now it looks like the improving economy and lower tax rates didn't help Boyd. It was announced Monday that they have sold the Dania Jai-Alai to a group of private investors for $80 million.

The deal is supposed to be finalized by September this year. Boyd said that this property "no longer fits our current growth strategy". It's not known what plans the new owners have for the site, but they will be able to add slot machines if they see fit.
