Wendy's gives it's burger a makeover.

(Wendy's new 'Dave's Hot 'n Juicy Cheeseburger)
Wendy's has been playing 'katch-up' in the fast food market for quite some time now. Falling behind even more recently with new owners...they've decided to introduce a new revamped burger. Here are some of the details on the new Dave's Hot 'n Juicy burgers:
-The patty is still 'square' but more 'hand formed' and has wavy edges.
-The patty is bigger. This is done by packing the meat more loosely and having grillers only smash patties twice during cooking (rather than the old 8 times).
-The cheese is stored at a higher temperature to help in the melting process (Wendy's had to get FDA approval for that).
-Ketchup is still on the burger and so is 'full fat' mayo. Mustard was taken off along with less pickles (crinkle pickles) and onions. They want you to taste the meat more.
If they are wrapping the burgers like they show in the picture, it looks like they are trying to be your choice for the 'in-between McDonald's and Five Guys' place. To me, Wendy's always had better burgers than McDonald's, so hopefully these changes will improve the burger even more.
If Wendy's is hoping to shoot up in market share...they have a long way to go. Sure...the food is a big deal, but so is customer service and the look of the restaurant. Say what you want about McDonald's...but they do have the better customer service of the 3 big chains. That along with improving their restaurants with Wi-Fi, Flat Screen TV's and a whole new decor, Wendy's has a long way to go. I don't think Wendy's has renovated since they removed the salad bar and 'newspaper tables'.
I'll let you know what I think of the new burger when I get the chance to try one. They should be in stores now. Wonder why I haven't seen any TV commercials??
