We’ve found the COOLEST coffee shop and café in Fort Lauderdale which is The Alchemist in the Eucalyptus Gardens in Wilton Manors.  Definitely not a Starbuck’s, this is really a one-of-a-kind spot that will leave an impression on you.

The Alchemist is located inside of the Eucalyptus Gardens which is a funky, hip spot that houses a number of local healthy eateries and stores. Pet friendly and vegan friendly makes for an eclectic mix of customers and offerings.

Walking through the gardens is a must when you visit The Alchemist as these are lots of cool nooks and crannies to see.  Cool art and old buildings make for a unique personality that is just cool to walk though and explore.

The Alchemist was quite busy when we arrived.  The inside is very small, with. Most of the seating outside in the cool nature lover’s patio (and dog lovers). The decor here is funky, chemist, antique sheik (yeah, we made it up).

Everything here is all natural with an emphasis on health with lots of vegan nods. They do a great job on including everyone’s taste here, even meat lovers.  Aside from the assortment of coffee and teas, they offer salads and Slicers for munching.

Ordering was simple and it’s really cool to watch them on action as you wait in line. This is not Starbucks and they have the workspace set up like a science lab. Beakers, flasks and bubbling concoctions make for some cool conversations.

Watching them whip up the drinks, you can tell they take time and really care about the end result. The line moved quickly and we placed our orders, paid and took a seat inside. They bring your orders to you so we just relaxed as we waited.

Blooming Tea ($4).  Served in a large wine glass, this tea is really cool. The dried flowers, herbs and other items are tied to resemble a flower. As it steeps the flower opens and looks really cool.

We found that this tea really developed over time and it’s a great option to order when you want to hand out. It was fresh and had lots of layers, Jeff didn’t need to add anything either.

Café Latte one shot ($4).  The presentation alone was so cool. It’s served in a small beaker with metal bands. Unique and something we’ve never seen. The Latte was really good and probably one of my favorites. I liked the natural wood log slice used as the serving tray.

Avocado Slicer ($5) – Avocado, onions, garlic, mixed greens, cilantro & EVOO served on a slice of toasted ciabatta. This slicer was outstanding. The bread was crisp and the fresh toppings were overflowing. The avocado was so creamy and fresh it melted in your mouth. It was really a great mix of garlic and onions and gave it lots of flavor layers. I know it might sound simple, but it was well worth the price and just the right size.
