Stopped at Cilluffo’s Pizza & Pasta located in Boca Raton inside the Howards Market shopping plaza.  I was on the road for lunch and pressed for time today. It’s a small Italian pizza joint that seems to be mostly geared to ‘take out’.  They do have some stools inside and a few tables outside to eat, but space is limited and there is no table service.  The inside is clean and the pizza boxes were stacked high behind the counter.  You almost can’t see the pizza ovens.  This is a Mom & Pop operation, so I was excited to see what the pizza was like.  I ordered one pepperoni slice and a bottled water and the guy behind the counter immediately started on the slice.  Drinks are self-serve and are bottles and cans, so no refills if you dine in.  He asked me if I was going to eat in or take out…and I was eating in.

I took a seat at one of the stools and had a view directly outside of the window.  You are not coming here for the view…you just overlook the parking lot.  There is also a small TV within view and I was able to catch some of the news.

The wait wasn’t long and he had my slice ready for me on a paper plate.  He rang me up (including the bottled water)…all came to just over $3.00 which I think is a good price.  The slice wasn’t huge, but a nice sized piece.  It looked really good and couldn’t wait to take a bite but I had to wait a minute or two since it still was so hot.  Slightly cooler, I took my first bite.  The crust is thin and surprisingly crisp.  The cheese was a nice creamy blend and the sauce was not overpowering.  The pepperoni was tasty and one of the slices was a little crisp on the end (which I love).  Overall this was a really good slice of pizza.  The crust was not overly chewy and I really liked the thinness of it.  I would definitely go here again for a slice (or two) and would try a whole pizza.
