Review in a word: Meh. The Ramblewood Diner in Coral Springs wasn’t the best or worst diner we’ve visited. Kinda just lost in the forgettable middle. Just like its location, lost in the middle of Atlantic Blvd between University Drive and State Road 7.
Driving up this morning around 7:30am, the parking lot had barely a handful of cars. Inside was the same handful of employees with only one customer in the dining room. I’m guessing they have a later breakfast crowd.
The dining room area was actually nice and not a dated as I had read about in other review online. It was clean and spotless and nothing out of place. The carpet floor had no spots and even the hard to reach areas under the tables and chairs were crumb free.
The wait staff was your typical career diner ladies, which is part of the charm of eating at diners. The menu and coffee was delivered and I ordered the “2-2-2” breakfast special ($6.95). Eggs over-easy, French toast and soft bacon. The thick sliced French toast was huge. But after half, I couldn’t eat any more. Oddly it seemed the more I ate, the less flavor I found. The bacon was soft just as I like, but again lacked any real flavor. Even the eggs were bland.
They have free Wi-Fi but the speed was horribly slow. Speaking of slow, it took more than a while before I was offered a coffee refill and my bill. By the time I left, only one other customer had arrived. We love visiting Fort Lauderdale diners, but unfortunately our visit to Ramblewood Diner in Coral Springs just didn’t excite us on either the service or food.
