On our recent South Florida brewery tour, we stopped in at Saltwater Brewery in Delray Beach. The location is new and is located an old feed store. It’s just west of I-95 on Atlantic Ave next to the railroad tracks.

Parking was easy and they have a lot of outdoor seating that looks prefect on a cool Florida afternoon. Today was a bit warm, so we ventured inside.

The inside isn’t hat large, but nicely done. It’s new and everything looks new and fresh. There are lots of places to sit (couches and tables made of large barrels) and lots of seats at the bar. The taps are lined up and the chalkboards above e bar lets you know what’s on tap. Behind the bar area is the actual brewery. It looks like they’ve done a good job fitting all he equipment into the small space. It did look like they had a tour option, but we only stopped in for a beer. Since this is a tap tasting room, they only offset their own beers here. You can also get growlers filled to go.

The service was good and the bartenders were friendly. I went for a chocolate stout and Jeff went for a flight (sampler). Getting a beer sampler is the way to go, especially if you don’t know what you like or don’t like. The one difference we noticed is that the beer menu didn’t have a detailed description of the taste like most other tap houses do. They give you the basics and let you try something if you like.

It’s a comfortable place to hang out and have a few (or more) beers and we will definitely stop in next time we are in Delray.

Oh, they don’t have a kitchen here, but I’m sure you can bring your own food.
