St. Barts Coffee Company has a prime restaurant location right on A1A, facing the Atlantic Ocean and right in the middle of the busy Fort Lauderdale beach pedestrian traffic.
Timing is everything as we’ve tried to review this restaurant several times in the past and each time it was already too crowded. Today, we got an earlier start and scored a great seat on the patio outside to watch the sunrise.
St. Barts Coffee Company makes use of the valuable patio dining space by having the tables very close to each other. You’ll definitely make new friends and overhear conversations. There’s also some seating inside, which I suspect is best for rainy days – but not today. We noticed the café went from empty to crowded in less than 30 minutes.
Spinach and Feta Omelet ($9.00). Eggs cooked thin, and then folded with fresh spinach – not frozen. Included a small salad made with fresh tomatoes, onions, lettuce and a light flavor dressing. Having a salad seemed unusual for breakfast but actually was very good.
Two Eggs, Bacon, Hash Browns and Bagel ($6.95). The eggs were nicely done and included a piece of sliced Swiss cheese and the salad. The bagel was toasted nicely and had pre-packaged butter, jelly and cream cheeses. The bacon seemed very thin but wasn’t thin on flavor.
The sodas are in larger plastic bottles, which is much better than cans. Coffee refills were generous and we had to leave before I started a 4th cup. We’re fine with the automatic tip (15%) added to the bill because they let you raise or lower.
And the best part of the breakfast was the amazing sunrise, which was no additional charge. While I’m a big fan of that coffee corporate giant you find on every corner, today’s breakfast at St. Barts Coffee Company was a special treat. Good food, great service and an outstanding view of Fort Lauderdale Beach.
