We love a good pub and we decided to go on a ‘mini pub crawl’ in Boca Raton in a hunt for craft beer.  Our first stop was the Lion & Eagle Pub located on US1 in an unassuming strip mall.

From the outside you would never guess that once you walk through the front door, you would be transported to England. We got to the pub at around 11:45 (15 minutes after it opened) and it was already very busy.  This isn’t a large pub and space is limited so you might have to stand during the busy times, especially during soccer games that are on the big screen TV behind the bar.

The look of the place definitely takes you to England/UK and it really looks cool.  It almost looks as if they moved the pub from overseas with the old wood and other trinkets that bring home the theme.  While it’s heavily ‘English’ in appearance, it’s very local US in customers of all ages, both men and women.  A good mix of friendly people.

We found two seats at the bar and settled in.  Both bartenders were great and were quick to get us beers and a menu.  They do have a nice craft beer selection as well as a full bar.  The food menu has lots of English favorites (Fish n Chips for example), but we decided not to order as the place was getting a little too busy.  People were already standing behind us because there was no more room to sit.  As we finished our beer…people still poured in.  We noticed a lot of soccer players in uniform and figured this was the after game spot to hang and toss a few back.

The Lion & Eagle Pub is a cool hang out and we are already planning a return visit…this time to try some of the food as well.  The Lion & Eagle Pub is located at 2401 N Federal Hwy Boca Raton, FL.
